Coming off a dramatic sudden death playoff victory in the U.S. Open, Tiger Woods is apparantly out for the rest of the year. Tiger Woods played the US Open in a lot of pain, due to knee surgery and it looks like he came back a little too soon.

Playing like the Boston Celtics of my youth, the boys from Beantown humiliated the Los Angeles Lakers in game 6 of the NBA Championship. Blowing out the Laker 131 to 92, the Boston Celtics took the trophy home for the 17th time in team history.

In winning by 39 points, the Celtics went into the record books for the largest margin of victory in a championship clinching game. Read the rest of this entry »

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart had a bad day last Sunday when a late-race pit road speeding penalty at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway took a solid top-10 effort and turned it into a disappointing 35th-place finish for Tony Stewart.

The disappointment turned trivial when he returned home Sunday night and found his hometown of Columbus, Indiana under water. People were displaced, the hospital was shut down with several feet of water on it’s main floor, and many homes were destroyed. Read the rest of this entry »

With a swing of the bat Cincinnati outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. joined one of the most elite clubs in major league baseball today. Ken Griffey Jr. is the newest member of the 600 home run club.

Led by the now disgraced, and under federal indictment, Barry Bonds (762 homers), the club also includes Hank Aaron (755), Babe Ruth (714), Wille Mays (660) and Sammy Sosa(609). Ken Griffey Jr. should easily pass Sosa before the end of the year. Read the rest of this entry »

Kyle Busch loves to race. This weekend he better love to travel also. Kyle, who leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings will try to become the first driver to win races in all three of NASCARs top divisions in the same weekend.

Kyle Busch nearly accomplished this once before, winning the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday, the Nationwide Series race on Saturday, and then finishing 8th in Sundays Sprint Cup race. Read the rest of this entry »
