While trying to find a movie to check out this weekend with the family I came across Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. If you aren’t familiar with Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, it’s the first big screen movie based on the American Girl Doll. Previously there have been 3 made for tv movies based on the American Girl Doll.

The reviewers for the American Girl Movie are all over the board. Some of them say it’s a great family movie. Others say it’s a movie for kids that parents won’t really care for. Well, not really that they won’t care for it, just that it’s a kids movie. Parents will like it because the kids like it. Some of the reviewers say that Kit Kittredge will only be liked by the girls while others are saying boys will like it too.

So what have you heard? Good family movie or just something for the young girls? I’ve read some good stuff about Abigail Breslin who plays Kit. She was in Little Miss Sunshine and did a really good job so I trust that she’ll be good in Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. Some of the reviews commented that they did a good job of presenting depression era Cincinnati so that would be interesting.
